Young Leaders United (YLU) has rebranded to Emerging Leaders United (ELU)! Emerging Leaders United engages tomorrow's philanthropic leaders through volunteerism and charitable giving today. ELU harnesses the energy of emerging professionals who wants to impact lives and create a better community for all.

Members will continue to enjoy exclusive leadership development, social networking opportunities, and volunteer events throughout Forsyth County that will make a direct impact in the community.

Members are asked to make a contribution of $250 and complete 24 hours of volunteer service annually.

Women's Leadership Council (WLC) has rebranded to Women United (WU)!

Our mission is to transform our community by raising awareness and addressing Forsyth County's most pressing needs through women-empowered philanthropy. We are a community of caring women who contribute their passions, ideas and unique strengths to support the mission of United Way of Forsyth County.

Founded in 2007, we currently have over 500 members through both corporate and community memberships. Members receive exclusive leadership development, social networking and volunteer opportunities.

With a funding focus around Academic Success for Children and Economic Mobility for their families, members invest $1,000 or more annually to help United Way meeting the needs of women ad children in Forsyth County. 40% of your contributions go to fund programs geared towards empowering women and educating children, and 60% goes to UWFC's general fund.

Step-Up Program- WU's Step-Up Program is a fundraising platform which allows members to join Women United with an initial gift of $500, increasing to $1,000 over the course of 5 years.

Introducing the United Way of Forsyth County African American Leadership Society (AALS)!

This group was first established in the early 90's as the African American Leadership Initiative (AALI). In 2020, United Way and community leaders began to re-introduce this affinity group with a goal of engaging more communities of color with the work of United Way.

So, just who is AALS?

AALS is comprised of philanthropic advocates for equity in our community. The mission is to positively impact people of color through philanthropy, advocacy, and empowered leadership.

Our three main objectives are Philanthropy, Advocacy, and Empowered Leadership:

Philanthropy

• Members invest $500 annually, showing the importance of philanthropy in communities of color.
• Members are connected to volunteer opportunities that are aligned with the goals of United Way of Forsyth County.

Advocacy

• We commit to an inclusive and intentional focus on minority-led organizations and historically marginalized populations.
• Our focus is to identify issues of importance in underserved communities and find collaborative solutions.

Empowered Leadership

• We are a diverse group of community leaders who fulfill the vision and mission of AALS and connect with members of Young Leaders United, Tocqueville Society, and Women's Leadership Council.
• Our Steering Committee ensures our voices are heard and makes important decisions about our work in the community.

The Tocqueville Society is a group of extraordinary community leaders and philanthropists who demonstrate their commitment to making Forsyth County a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

Membership begins at $10,000 annually. New members may participate in the Andy Brown Step-Up Match, a program that allows donors the option to increase their gift over a three-year period, while enjoying the benefits of Tocqueville Society immediately.
